Find the Right Dodge Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

Find the Right Dodge Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

Welcome to Find the Right Auto Dealer, your source for information about finding the right new and used cars to meet your budget and expectations.  This is an unsponsored blog, so there’s no company paying us to manipulate users for selfish interests.  All of our information is no-fluff, objective and to-the-point.  In this post, you will find 5 tips to find the right Dodge dealer.

1. Shop at the End of the Month, but Start Sooner

Dealerships and salespeople have quotas.  So logically, it's easier to get a deal near the end of the month.  But this doesn't mean wait til the 30th and shop around.  Start calling and visiting dealerships several days prior.  Even though the end of the month is an ideal time to buy a car, you don't want to rush the issue.

2. Beware of Dealer Recommendations

If you have a car in mind and the salesperson tries to convince you to buy a different car, or the salesperson tries to change you from a new to used car, or vice versa, do your research.  This is a tactic to throw people off and make them rush into deals.  Go home and do all of the necessary research on the new option before you decide.

3. The Next Big Thing Costs More

If you see the hottest Dodge sports car being advertised all over T.V., it's probably going to be overpriced.  This is almost always true.  The next big thing may not be the best deal around.  Being smart and keeping an open mind can save you thousands.

4. Be Careful With the Loan Terms

A few interest points can mean a lot of money in the long run.  For example, if you borrow $25,000 for a car, a difference of 2 percent means $1,000 over the duration of the loan.

5. No Surprises

Before you even think of going to a dealership, do your research.  Know what you want and have a price in mind.  Know the specifics, such as warranty stipulations.  There should be no surprises when you purchase your next Dodge.

Find the Right Chrysler Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

1. Gut Instinct Doesn't Count

A lot of people know how to read people, how to negotiate and have incredible gut instincts.  But when it comes to buying something as expensive as a car, gut instinct isn't enough.  You need to do your research, compare dealers and take your time.

2. Be Specific

Don't just have an idea of what you want, KNOW what you want.  This doesn't just mean year, make and model, but also warranty stipulations.  There should be no surprises and you need to control the transaction.

3. Meticulously Negotiate

I say "meticulously" because the price of the car is just the start.  There are other negotiable items like warranties, trade-in value, interest rate, lease rate and maintenance.

4. Lower Monthly Payments Might Mean Zilch

A clever salesperson may offer you a lower monthly payment, saying that he's not supposed to do that or something along those lines.  This doesn't necessarily mean savings in the long run and with interest rates, it may mean a higher price.

5. Save Time, Call Ahead

Call the dealership and have a car ready when you get there, especially if you have a specific model in mind.  This can save time since the battery will be charged and the salesperson won't have to fish it out of the back of the lot.

Find the Right Chevrolet Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

Find the Right Chevrolet Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

Welcome to Find the Right Auto Dealer, your source for information about finding the right new and used cars to meet your budget and expectations.  This is an unsponsored blog, so there’s no company paying us to manipulate users for selfish interests.  All of our information is no-fluff, objective and to-the-point.  In this post, you will find 5 tips to find the right Chevrolet.

1. Compare Several Dealers

It's important not to jump the gun when buying a car, especially a new car.  Visiting several dealers before you buy can mean a difference of thousands of dollars.  It may also help if the dealer knows that you are shopping around.  The salesperson's goal is to sell a car, and they'd rather make a little money than no money at all.

2. A Good Salesperson Makes a Difference

There's an obvious difference between a salesperson who wants you to spend the most money and one that just wants to make a sale.  If you shop around, you'll see what I mean.  You want to find one that is showcasing cars, not trying to manipulate you into a more expensive buy.  Trust me, they're out there.

3. Negotiate

When it comes to buying a car, every price is negotiable.  The salesperson will have a magic number in their head, the lowest they are willing to go.  Your goal is to find out what that number is and get there.  Don't sound too needy and make sure he or she knows that you have options.  Be friendly, but firm.

4. Only Fools Rush In

Taking your time doesn't just mean visit several dealers.  You need to do your research.  Find out what deals other people are getting for the same model.  This is also a good negotiation tool.

5. Tips for Purchasing a Used Chevrolet

Whether you have a model in mind or just a brand you like, more research always helps.  The internet is full of free webpages (like this one) that provide genuine information to people looking for a fair deal on a car.  Each model is different.  A few weeks ago, I was talking to someone interested in finding a Chevy Impala.  He hadn't done much research, but thought the car met his budget and needs.  I introduced him to a few websites and man did he change his mind.  The car he was looking at was a 2004 model, probably the worst Chevy Impala ever produced.  So again, do your research, compare dealers and set yourself up for the best possible deal.

Find the Right BMW Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

Find the Right BMW Dealer: 5 Things to Consider

Welcome to Find the Right Auto Dealer, your source for information about finding the right new and used cars to meet your budget and expectations.  This is an unsponsored blog, so there’s no company paying us to manipulate users for selfish interests.  All of our information is no-fluff, objective and to-the-point.  In this post, you will find 5 tips to find the right BMW.

1. Shop Around

Like any other car, you need to take your time and visit several dealers.  No matter how nice or welcoming a salesperson is, his or her ultimate goal is to sell you a car.  The good ones know that consumers are aware of this, so most of them won’t be too pushy and will genuinely take your interests into account.  However, it always helps to shop around.

2. Find the Right Salesperson

The right salesperson will take your interests into consideration.  Tell him or her your budget and what you expect out of the vehicle.  A really good salesperson may even offer some discounts.

3. Haggle

There’s always room to haggle; that’s why new cars are so damn overpriced!  Find out what the dealer is willing to offer and ALWAYS lowball them.  Continue negotiating and when you finally believe that the dealer will not go any further, express the amount that is your final offer.  If they don’t take it, you can always come back.

4. Take Your Time

Rushing in to buying a BMW can be one of the most expensive mistakes you make.  Take your time and find the right BMW dealer for you. Make sure the salesperson knows that this is not your last stop.

5. When Buying a Used BMW

Do your research.  Every model is different.  Know the common problems and what to look for.  Chances are you will find some sort of defect as a basis to negotiate a lower price.  For instance, I had someone email me about choosing between a 2006 325i and a 2007 328i.  He was convinced that, because the 2007 model had less miles and the prices were about the same, the 2007 was obviously the right choice.  Wrong!  I presented him with a few informative links and some background information.  On these particular models, the condition is a lot more important than the miles.  Head issues are common and it’s important to service the cooling system.  This stuff isn’t cheap and that’s why people avoid it.  But again, penny pinching is not a mistake you want to make when you buy a BMW.
